Inspiration & Background

LAVES – modern laboratory work in the service of consumer and public health protection as an exclusive PLAYMOBIL Special Edition

The PLAYMOBIL special set #72348 “LAVES” was created as a limited special edition on behalf of the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (LAVES). The institute is responsible for a wide range of tasks in the fields of consumer protection, food safety, animal health, animal welfare and environmental analysis throughout Lower Saxony, making an important contribution to the protection of people, animals and the environment. The key figure of the set is a female laboratory technician, representing the many scientists and specialists who work in laboratories and testing facilities every day. The set was released to mark the 25th anniversary of LAVES on June 10, 2026. Just a few days earlier, it celebrated its official premiere at Interschutz 2026 in Hanover, the leading international trade fair for rescue services, fire protection and disaster relief. As a high-quality collector’s edition, the set was produced exclusively for the client as a complimentary giveaway and is aimed primarily at institutional partners and employees.

Contents of the set:
- Laboratory technician
- Microscope
- Erlenmeyer flask

“LAVES” demonstrates how PLAYMOBIL translates themes from science, research and public service into its distinctive world of figures. As a tailor-made special edition, the set combines the importance of modern laboratory work with contemporary design and the unmistakable PLAYMOBIL brand world. At the same time, the figure pays tribute to the people whose daily work contributes to food safety, consumer protection and public health.
